Camper sitting inside a mesh tent at sunrise, wrapped in a blanket and surrounded by Zenbivy sleep gear, overlooking a mountain range under a colorful sky.

The outdoor industry has been wrong about sleep for decades.

Most sleeping bag and backpacking quilt companies will tell you that their products are light, warm, and packable—and they are.

But by focusing on what it’s like to carry their gear, they’ve ignored the experience of actually sleeping in it.

For the first time in decades, a Zenbivy bed introduces the first genuinely new way to sleep outside. Our beds give you the freedom to sleep in any position you want, draft-free and without constriction, all night long.

Whether you sleep on your stomach, your side, or in a shape all own, Zenbivy will conform to your sleeping habits, not dictate them.

Rest better than the rest. Sleep free.

Meet the Team

Meet the good people leading us in our peaceful rebellion against bagged sleep.

Michael

Zenbivy Owner/Founder

"Glavin" is no stranger to the outdoor industry. Prior to creating the Zenbivy Bed, he led some of the best brands in the game. You’re probably familiar with a few of his inspirations such as the MSR® Hubba Hubba™, the GSI® Dualist™ and Sierra Designs® Backcountry Bed.

Before Zenbivy launched in 2017, he had spent 15 years striving towards the perfect mummy alternative that allows you to sleep in a bed like you do at home. As an avid backpacker himself, this was an endeavor he pursued in earnest at Sierra Designs while he was there, which resulted in the predecessors to the Zenbivy Bed: the Backcountry Bed and Backcountry Quilt.

Mason Strehl is an avid outdoor adventurer, photographer, and storyteller based in Washington state. When he's not in the office, you can find him hiking in the backcountry, climbing peaks, or surfing.

Mason

Advertising & creative manager

Mason Strehl is an avid outdoor adventurer, photographer, and storyteller based in Washington state. When he's not in the office, you can find him hiking in the backcountry, climbing peaks, or surfing. For most of the year, he’s traveling around and living out of his converted Toyota truck. He prioritizes gaining knowledge through experience and creating meaningful connections with others.

Mason has been with Zenbivy from the very beginning. He himself has logged over 800 nights in a Zenbivy Bed in almost every condition imaginable! From the ice fields of southern Patagonia to the Swedish Laplands, in the dry deserts of Arizona and through the rugged backcountry in his home state of Alaska, he shares the story of Zenbivy through his own adventures.

Kylie

Ecommerce Manager

As Zenbivy’s Ecommerce Manager, Kylie is responsible for creating a seamless online experience, from start to finish. Reading reviews from customers who say their Zenbivy gear helps them get outside more often and more comfortably is as good of a reward as it gets.

Outside the office, Kylie finds any excuse to get outdoors, whether it’s a quick walk down to the water with her dog or a months-long trek—like the time she thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail. When she’s not out exploring, she’s usually deep into a creative project (sewing, weaving, pottery, you name it), always eager to learn a new skill.

Dom

Community Coordinator & Customer Support

Dom joined the team after years of leading and coordinating multi-week wilderness trips for youth across the PNW and Alaska. He brings his passion for the outdoors with countless experiences in customer service to make sure Zenbivy users have everything they need for a perfect night outside.

Whether planning remote backcountry experiences, bartending at a ski hill, or driving the iconic Oscar Mayer Wienermobile across the hot dog highways of America, Dom knows how to bring people together and create memorable experiences. When he’s not in the office, you can find him backpacking in the Cascades, kayaking the San Juan Islands, or skiing at Mt. Baker.

Matt

Product Development

Matt Culver is a Denver native who relocated to Washington to continue his adventurous career. With a background in industrial design, Matt specializes in developing outdoor equipment. He’s a creative, driven by a passion to design gear that empowers others to explore the outdoors with comfort and confidence.

As an outdoor industry professional, Matt stays committed to training and exploring the map. He's also a maker who designs and creates his own gear — from bikes to packs. For Matt, there’s nothing better than a day spent outside with friends, followed by a night camping under the stars.

Carrie

Bookkeeper

Carrie handles the bookkeeping and then some. She has an eye for detail and a passion for numbers, ensuring that the financial side of operations runs smoothly and efficiently. She finds motivation in being part of a team that helps to get people outdoors and into nature. She also enjoys being part of Zenbivy because she loves comfort and sleep, which is what Zenbivy is best at.

Outside of work Carrie is a dedicated mother, an avid reader and a nature lover who believes in the importance of balance—in both life and in the books.
