    Core Bed Features

    Fast Footbox™

Without zippers or a complex convertible footbox, the Core Bed’s simple patent-pending Fast Footbox™ technology utilizes just one hook to quickly transform the footbox from "mummy mode" for maximum warmth to “wide mode” for maximum space.

    Clip Closures

To keep things lightweight and minimal, the Core Bed uses our proven clip system to connect the backpacking quilt to the separate fitted sheet and ensure a draft-free night of sleep.

      Great

When paired with a core quilt it’s the most comfortable sleeping system.

Very comfortable, but temperature rating is very over-rated.

Pros: ZenBivy's customer service was very helpful with my questions. The system itself is very comfortable and I have one quilt and two sizes in sheets, which easily fit my pre-existing sleeping pads. Con: It's not a 25 degree bag . To be honest, I did not buy it as a 25 degree bag, because I'm well aware that most gear manufacturers overstate this rating. However, I spent 10 days camping in the Tetons early this summer in a dry tent on level ground, on a sleeping pad with a 6+ Rvalue and wearing thermals. But without an extra light blanket on the inside of the system, I would have been very cold in temperatures not lower that 38-40F. So for me that's a fail to be advertising it as a 25 degree sleep system. I think most experienced campers and backpackers understand these issues, but it's the newbies I worry about and there is no way I'd recommend this to someone going into a colder situation. I would recommend it for summer backpacking or kayaking and colder car camping when you can bring some extra gear in order to stay warm. I'd buy it again and I'm very happy with it. I'm also happy I went into my purchase with realistic expectations and I wish ZenBivy would reconsider how they do their own temperature ratings.

      Zenbivy quilt

I haven’t used it yet; I’m just gearing up for a Fall section hike on the AT. Quilt definitely seems to fit the bill, but… I also ordered a mesh bag not knowing that it came in one. Also, it supposedly stuffs into the 7L bag, which I can’t make happen. Luckily, I had ordered elsewhere a 10L bag that it barely stuffs into. The compression ends I ordered? I can’t seem to make them work. Overall, I do feel I wasted some of my money.

So far, so good! As a 6'7"/250 lbs side-sleeper, I've been camping in my 1980's era XL Hollofill 2 sleeping bag out of necessity, but it's always been snug. At various points over the years, I've tried upgrading, but everything available was too tight in the shoulders/hips, or my feet/head would get pushed together if I tried to stretch out. Finally decided to try the Zenbivy XL Core Synthetic 25 with the 30x80 sheet paired with the ALPS Mountaineering Nimble Insulated pad. Haven't been outside yet, but it's an absolute dream combo on the hardwood floor at my parent's house. (Curse you brother, for taking the bed! :) ) But the joke's on him, this is almost as good as a bed. Looking forward to seeing how it performs outdoors in a couple months at the next Scout campout.

      Nice comfy setup

Good setup based on the fact that I've spent a number of nights sleeping in this combo and there was no glaring discomforts or things that made me regret my purchase. I'm still learning how to use the bivy and sheet combo. Overall it's good at maintaining comfortable temperature in the summer.
