Keep It Simple
Pack all of your sleep gear—quilt, sheet, mattress, pillow, clothes, and anything else you want to keep dry until you reach camp—in one easily compressible, waterproof bag and slide it into the bottom of your pack.
Step 1: Pack It
Start by stuffing your quilt, sheet, air mattress, camp pillow, sleep clothing, and other soft items directly into the Pack Liner.
Step 2: Compress It
Fold the top of the Pack Liner over and press down (or kneel on it) to push out as much air as possible. Roll the top down tightly, continuing to force out excess air as you go. Once fully rolled, clip the ends together to seal the liner.
Step 3: Form It
Now that you have your Pack Liner packed and compressed, pre-shape it to easily slide into the bottom of your backpack. Push on it to mold it into the shape you need.
Step 4: Line It
Slide the Pack Liner into the bottom of your empty pack. Once at the bottom, press firmly on the top until it conforms to the shape of your pack, filling out the entire base and creating a stable foundation.
Step 5: Keep Packing
Pack the rest of your gear on top of the Pack Liner. Your whole sleep system is now protected and organized in a weather-resistant barrier at the bottom of your pack.
