Block Drafts

Together, the hood and wings of the sheet create a draft shield. Attaching your quilt to the draft shield keeps it "tucked" at your sides to block drafts and guides the corners of the quilt into the hood to seal in warmth around your neck and shoulders.
Eliminate Constriction

The wings of the draft shield function as hinges, allowing the quilt to expand and settle naturally. This unique design gives you space when you need it and the ability to wrap the quilt snuggly around you.
Integrated, Uninsulated Hood

You might be thinking: "What's the point of an uninsulated hood?" The hood is a key component of the built-in draft shield. With your quilt clipped to the hinged wings of the sheet, the corners tuck up into the hood to block drafts around your shoulders. While the uninsulated hood is ideal for warm summer trips, on colder trips you can line it with a down jacket to insulate your head.
20D Nylon Taffeta

20D fabrics are much softer than traditional ultralight technical fabrics while being only a fraction heavier. They’re buttery-smooth, comfortable, durable, and worth the minuscule weight penalty.

Freedom to Sleep

As a very tall backpacker the who struggles to fit in so called long and wide sleeping bags I have finally found the solution .
Sleep freedom is what I experienced when I used my ZenBivy Light - I experienced room to move around and no cold draughts .
The bag kept me warm in outside temps of -5C and not once did I awake during the night - a first for me .
The lightweight pillow pocket is ideal to stop your pillow moving about and disturbing your sleep - I am a definite convert to the quilt system .

Worth it

I was initially debating whether I needed this as part of my sleep system, but I am so glad that I decided to include it. This is the key to the entire system - it's very comfortable and really allows the quilt to perform in all the best ways to keep me warm while also allowing for variety in how I use it, all without constricting me. It's packs down to virtually nothing. All in all I can't imagine why I'd ever use the quilt without this essential companion component.
