"We met Frankie near Apache Peak on San Jacinto. He was wearing his large straw hat and getting ready to go over San Jacinto with Georgia just because she told him, "C'mon Frankie." This dude is a chill, real one. He's always ready to send it and send it with a smile. We saw him again after he did San Jacinto then again at Kennedy Meadows and finally at Kearsarge Pass. If you'd like to follow his journey you can find him on Instagram @frankie.be90" - Journey Man
What's your name / trail name or both?
Frankie/otcho otcho
Where are you from?
Van canada born philippines
Why did you decide to do the PCT?
Well... hmmm. Its just, im always on a hunt for new adventures and I don't think there's anything better things to do right now for myself other than doing the pct. It has exeeded my expectations (I kid u not). Might sound chessy but i can finally say I'm living life-- every second of it-- despite all the ups and downs.
What has been the most challenging thing you've encountered on trail so far?
I got sick pretty bad for 2 weeks including fever during heatwaves, shivering and sweating at the same time while sleeping. And I'm pretty dramatic when I'm sick.
What is something you've learned so far on your hike?
Ohh man... I'm not sure, there's a lot, need more detailed question for this one. But one thing came on mind was "the trail provides for those who surrender and let go" I'm not tryna be religious or spiritual here, but me and other hikers have talked about this deeply and sometimes it's scary. Scary in a way that a higher power is watching you specially when you let go and surrender...
