Near the end of Massachusetts (mile 1548) we crossed a road by a small farmhouse that provides an awesome Trail Stand stocked with cold drinks, snacks, and free Wi-Fi.
A little over halfway through August we made it to Vermont and intersected with The Long Trail. Running the length of the state of Vermont, it is the oldest long-distance trail in the United States.
During our time in Vermont we took a zero day in Manchester. Manchester is a very hiker friendly spot and a few of us had packages at the local gear shop. We switched to back into some of our winter-wear as fall began to set in. A short push out of Manchester would lead us to the Bromley Mountain Summit where we crashed in the ski patrol hut for the evening.
After a few incredible weather days on trail we found ourselves in Hanover, New Hampshire, home to Dartmouth University and the start of the last 2 states on this 14 state journey through Appalachia.
