Zipperless Convertible Footbox
Zenbivy's zipperless convertible footbox design is lighter, wider, draft-free, and more versatile than common zippered convertible footboxes.

Our Solution to the Problem
The Problem: Most convertible backpacking quilts use zippers to form the footbox, but that design comes with tradeoffs. Zippers add weight and bulk, create cold spots when left uninsulated, and limit adjustability. When opened flat, zipper placement and stiffness also reduces comfort.
Our Solution: Zenbivy’s zipperless convertible footbox uses discreet, nearly weightless clip fasteners and overlapping insulated draft panels for a fully draft-free seal. Those draft panels also give you a wider quilt when flat compared to tapered, zippered designs. The clips allow you to easily adjust from narrow to wide to flat, delivering more versatility and comfort without added weight or bulk.
How It Works
-
Step 1
Lay your quilt out with the lining facing up (Zenbivy logo will be facing down). Have the foot end closest to you.
-
Step 2
Grab the GREEN loop in the lower left corner and bring it over to the matching GREEN clip on your right side. Clip that!
-
Step 3
Folding the right side of the quilt in towards the left, locate the YELLOW clip and attach it to the matching YELLOW loop.
-
Step 4
Locate the BLUE loop on the right corner of the quilt and attach it to the matching BLUE clip on your lefthand side.
-
Step 5
On the inside of the footbox, locate both sides of the snap and snap them together.
-
Step 6
Once snapped, fully cinch the drawstring to close up the footbox.
Voilà! You have successfully set up "wide mode" on your convertible quilt.
-
Optional: Step 7
If needed on cold nights, transform the convertible footbox from "wide mode" for maximum space to "mummy mode" for maximum warmth.
-
Optional: Step 8
To form mummy mode, simply clip the next two clips that run up the underside of the footbox—1 green, 1 yellow. You can choose to clip both, or just one.
