      Zenbivy quilt

I haven’t used it yet; I’m just gearing up for a Fall section hike on the AT. Quilt definitely seems to fit the bill, but… I also ordered a mesh bag not knowing that it came in one. Also, it supposedly stuffs into the 7L bag, which I can’t make happen. Luckily, I had ordered elsewhere a 10L bag that it barely stuffs into. The compression ends I ordered? I can’t seem to make them work. Overall, I do feel I wasted some of my money.

So far, so good! As a 6'7"/250 lbs side-sleeper, I've been camping in my 1980's era XL Hollofill 2 sleeping bag out of necessity, but it's always been snug. At various points over the years, I've tried upgrading, but everything available was too tight in the shoulders/hips, or my feet/head would get pushed together if I tried to stretch out. Finally decided to try the Zenbivy XL Core Synthetic 25 with the 30x80 sheet paired with the ALPS Mountaineering Nimble Insulated pad. Haven't been outside yet, but it's an absolute dream combo on the hardwood floor at my parent's house. (Curse you brother, for taking the bed! :) ) But the joke's on him, this is almost as good as a bed. Looking forward to seeing how it performs outdoors in a couple months at the next Scout campout.

      Nice comfy setup

Good setup based on the fact that I've spent a number of nights sleeping in this combo and there was no glaring discomforts or things that made me regret my purchase. I'm still learning how to use the bivy and sheet combo. Overall it's good at maintaining comfortable temperature in the summer.

      So far, I love this...

First time quilt. Didn't know what to expect. Wanted a 3 season 40°f synth bag, but they are out so got the 25°f. Was after I returned an excellent bag from elsewhere, ...loved it but the shoulder girth was impossible to deal with. I was a little concerned about the footbox on this one, I wanted the open bottom with zip style for controllable ventilation (I sleep hot), but this feels like it will be well workable (like when I want to hang a leg out to cool or whatever). I am a little concerned about summer with this considering it really reflects heat surprisingly well. I figured since they didn't have the 40°f in stock, this should be fine ...considering the form factor, and also I tend to sack out mostly in the mountains and high desert ...where even in summer it tends to get colder at night anyway. We'll see ...gonna keep this one ...it is surprisingly very comfortable. I love how I can control ventilation so well, including fully sealing up for zero draft if need be -which I had some trepidation about it actually being able to achieve. And no constriction. Wont know about the durability of its construction till its been beat up a bit, so I cannot comment on that. But I gotta say this is one of my most exciting camping gear purchases in a long time. Impressive gear.
