I haven’t used it in the Ford but it’s coming. I got the 23* bed with the flex mattress and pillow. I opened it up and was a little worried at first. But then I set it up. Now I’m a believer. Not a trace of doubt in my mind. I’m in love. The materials are extremely soft and not that awful plastic like stuff that makes the banshee screech when it rubs together. The color is not jet black, kind of a brown tintZ I was explained the color choices were picked as their coloring is least harmful to the environment. The bed sets up in 5 minutes. I had no issues. The pillow took three breaths to inflate. It is also fits in the palm of my hand (I have average man hands) when broken down. Easy to get back into the sack. The flex mattress took about 14-20 breaths. Wasn’t counting, was watching the Office (US of course). I was able to break it down and get it into the dry sack. I mention this because I rarely have the patience to do this but a miracle occurred and God granted me strength to get the job done. Overall I cannot wait to see it in action. I have a quilt if I want it, a mummy bag if I want it, or a five star resort if I do like the Avengers did to defeat Thanos and assemble it all together. I highly recommend the compression caps. I didn’t get them but will be soon. Bottom line, get in on this. For the price and options you can’t lose. This is the bottom line (really).
I just got my zenbivy in the mail and while I haven’t put it to the test yet, I wanted to add a note that the color I received wasn’t what was described. The black in the black/blue combo is really an obvious brown color. Not that color means anything important but it was not what I was expecting.
I LOVE my zenbivy! The versatility, the warmth, the thoughtful details, everything! My ONLY concern is that it is made out of super light delicate fabric, and it got caught in the zipper on my second use and has tiny holes in it. I would love to see another option with more durable fabric for us canoe campers that aren't counting every single gram. I'm scared it will rip too easily.
I am so excited about receiving my Zenbivy bed today!! It was wicked easy to set up and it is soooo comfy! Absolutely love it!!! Can’t wait to try this out while camping this summer up in the White Mountains of NH!!
I have purchased a XL bed & flex mattress. First I'm impressed by the idea of the bed system, but when they were delivered I was very happy with what I got. The quality, and comfort is immediately obvious. The fabric is very soft & comfy, and the down fill makes it that much more cozy. I'm 73'' tall & 180#. I got the XL because I flop around a lot at night, so really happy with the size. I don't know how it's made, but the flex mattress is unbelievably comfortable. As a side sleeper, even my bony hips stay cushioned on a hard surface. I'm very impressed with the entire package. It's such a great idea. I just ordered the full pillow because I'm sure I will be impressed with it too, and my ultimate outdoor sleeping experience will be complete. I'm very glad I bumped into a youtube video about these products.
Unlike mummy bags, there is no thermal disadvantage to a larger size Zenbivy Bed because it is always free to wrap snugly around you. So bigger is always more comfortable and just as warm. If you are an "active" sleeper or have a "wide" sleeping position, you may want to size up to sleep naturally. When in doubt, size up.
