You don't have to choose between an ultralight pack or comfort at camp—the Light Bed gives you the best of both worlds. Our 2-piece sleeping bag combines the warmth and draft-free performance of a mummy bag with the luxurious comfort of a backpacking quilt. It's built to feel like your bed at home with a sheet below you and a quilt above so you can get a comfortable, natural night's sleep outdoors without the constriction of a mummy bag.
We've refined every aspect to save weight including using performance fabrics, high-quality insulation, and a unique ultra-secure hook and loop system to add versatility to the setup. We built the Light Bed for performance so you can go further outdoors in comfort.
The Light Bed 40° has a 1d/3d polyester synthetic blend insulation that’s so soft you'll swear it's down. It’s just as light and packable as our 25° down quilt, but built for warmer nights and tighter budgets.
The Light Bed 40° Synthetic includes the Light Quilt 40°, Light Sheet 40°, and an extra-large mesh bag for long-term storage. (Mattress, pillow, and compression sold separately)
The Light Quilt uses a series of color-coded hooks and loops to form the footbox and attach the quilt to the sheet. This not only sheds the weight of heavy zippers, but gives you more versatility in how you choose to clip it!
The Light Quilt features a 3/4-length baffle-backed drawstring on the top edge. Unlike traditional backpacking quilts that have a drawstring spanning the entire width, the shortened cord length on the Zenbivy quilt cinches only the center portion, softly sealing around your neck without shortening the overall usable width of the quilt.
No thin, clingy 10d fabrics here. We found more clever ways to ditch ounces while keeping the fabric a very smooth, comfy, and durable 20d.
The Light Quilt 40° has a 1d/3d polyester synthetic blend insulation that’s so soft you'll swear it's down.
By clipping the Light Quilt to the hinged “wings” of the Light Sheet, it's free to get wider where and when you need it to while preventing any possible drafts from the sides as you move. Then, just as instantly, the quilt "settles" to wrap snuggly around you.
Tuck in under the sheet's large hood to keep your head warm on cold nights. It's roomy and wide enough to fit the arms of stomach sleepers as well! The integrated hood doubles as a cubby to keep your camp pillow from wandering off in the middle of the night.
The Light Sheets are made with 20d nylon taffeta. This 20d fabric is buttery-soft and smooth against your skin. It's more comfortable than sleeping directly on the mattress and, as a bonus, it helps to keep your mattress cleaner for longer!
Our sheets are designed to fit most standard size mattresses on the market—both rectangular AND tapered styles! Our Light Sheets are available in 20x72 and 25x77. They will fit mattresses up to about 3.5" thick.
(Do you have a 25" x 72" Regular Wide pad? You'll want the 25x77 Light Sheet. There's an elastic strip along the bottom edge to take up any excess length and an adjustable strap on the back to cinch it in)
Add a mattress, pillow, and compression to complete your Light Bed sleep system.
Got my Light Bed 40 recently and used it this 2022 4th of July weekend and was blown away at how comfortable it is to sleep in. I live in Hawaii and it got a little cool throughout the evening due to wind and rain and it kept me nice and toasty. When I did get warm I just opened it up on one side and got instantly cooled down. Fabric is very soft and did not get sticky with the humidity unike other sleeping bags. Very easy to move around in and shift sleeping positions. Awesome product and now I'm looking forward to eventually getting the double bed for my SUV glamping once I'm able to save up enough to get it because it's definitely worth the money.
I am both a fidgety sleeper and usually sleep on my side with my arm under my pillow. The Zenbivy sheet lets me put my arm under my pillow while the hood keeps everything in place. If it's not cold I can put the hood over my plasticy inflatable camp pillow as a makeshift pillowcase to give it a a little floof and nicer feel. Literally the sheet alone is worth the weight to me. I love the hood without having to use a constricting mummy bag. The clips are brilliant too though. I usually sleep with one side clipped and only clip it all up if it's cold. Either way is perfect for all the tossing and turning I'm gonna do. After a night or two I was able to do all the clipping in the dark while in bed, although you definitely need to figure out how it works at home. Maybe an underrated benefit, sleeping on the sheet just feels a little nicer than sleeping directly a pad. I'm in the southern US and a hot sleeper. Summer nights are mild so the weather here doesn't push it and I can't fairly rate warmth. If I purchased again, I would've gone with the 25 degree quilt just to save a bit of weight and get a bit more versatility. I went with the cheaper one out of skepticism because I don't hear tons of serious backpackers or fancy influencers talk about Zenbivy, but it would've been worth the price. I'm 5'11" with the regular size quilt which is certainly big enough. The only downside is that it's almost certainly a few ounces heavier than whatever other ultralight quilt you're looking at so you won't be able to flex how hardcore and barebones you are with this in your Lighterpack, as if that matters. Unless you're camping under a 3oz DCF tarp, you've sacrificed weight for comfort at some point and this is where I personally did. I would cut my shelter or food weight every time before you see me without my 9oz comfy hooded sheet thing. Now that I know how great the system is, if ZB ever wants to make a fancy 950 fill power quilt to entice me to upgrade, I'm here for it.
